Genocide: Past and Present

Keynote speaker was retired Canadian Gen. Romeo Dallaire, force commander of the U.N. mission to Rwanda in 1993 and 1994, a period when nearly 1 million people were slaughtered. Other speakers included Suzanne Koepplinger, executive director of the Minnesota Indian Women’s Resource Center; Mark Hanis, executive director and founder of the Genocide Intervention Network; Victoria Barnett of  the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum and Hermann Goltz of Martin Luther University of Halle-Wittenberg Germany. These Lectures were held at Augsburg College (now University) and Temple Israel in Minneapolis, MN.
